You Can't Do Everything
For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery. Ecclesiastes 8:6, NIV
Have you ever felt like there’s just too much to do? Like your brain is about to explode from homework and chores and practices and everything else? Sometimes life feels overwhelming!
Here’s something important to remember: You can’t do everything, and that’s okay! You’re not supposed to! Even famous people with lots of money have hard days and feel overwhelmed sometimes. Having money or being popular doesn’t make life’s problems disappear!
The Bible tells us that there’s a “proper time and procedure for every matter.” That’s a fancy way of saying that God has a plan and a right time for everything. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It means you’re human!
So what should you do when everything feels like too much? Here’s what the Bible says: “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Let’s break that down: First, admit you need help (that’s humility). Second, give your worries to God. Third, remember that God cares about you and will help you!
Think About It: What’s making you feel overwhelmed right now? Is it schoolwork? Friend drama? Family stuff? Sports or activities? Take a piece of paper and write down everything that’s stressing you out. Then one by one, “give” each thing to God in prayer. You can even physically hand the paper up toward heaven as you pray! Tell God, “I can’t handle this on my own. Please help me!” Then trust that He will give you the strength and wisdom you need to handle things one step at a time. Remember, you don’t have to do everything perfectly. Just do your best and let God handle the rest!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
