Golden Rule

All of us have felt the sting of another person’s judgment, made worse by their not having all the facts. In the spirit of “doing unto others,” we should be careful about judging others before we take time to inquire into their situation. Think of the times we jump to conclusions about a stranger’s words or actions without knowing anything about that person.

The letter in the New Testament written by James has a good word that applies to judging: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get upset with others. It’s a simple way to fulfill the Golden Rule.
