The Baby in the Basket
Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. Colossians 3:2, TLB
What’s the biggest worry you have right now? Maybe you’re worried about a test at school or about making friends or about something happening in your family. Worries can feel really heavy, like carrying a backpack full of rocks!
In the Bible, there were a mom and dad named Jochebed and Amram who had something HUGE to worry about. They had a baby boy, but the king of Egypt said all baby boys had to be thrown into the river! Can you imagine how scared they must have been?
But here’s what they did: They trusted God! They made a special waterproof basket, put their baby (his name was Moses!) in it, and placed it in the river—but they put it where Pharaoh’s daughter would find it. They gave their biggest worry to God, and God took care of everything! Moses was found by the princess, and guess what? She even paid Moses’ own mom to take care of him! The Bible says that Moses’ parents “were not afraid” (Hebrews 11:23). They had faith that God would protect their son, and He did!
When you have big worries, you can do what Moses’ parents did: Give them to God! Jesus even said, “Do not worry about tomorrow” (Matthew 6:34). God is way bigger than any problem you’re facing!
Take Action: Find a small basket, jar, or box. Write your worries on pieces of paper and put them in the container. As you put each one in, pray and give that worry to God. Then leave them there! Every time you feel like you’re about to worry about those things again, remember you already gave them to God, and He’s taking care of them!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
