Imagine an angel suddenly appearing in your room and telling you that God has a really important job for you to do! That’s exactly what happened to Mary. The angel Gabriel showed up and said, “Mary, you’re going to have a baby, and He’s going to be the Son of God!”

Mary could have said, “No way! I’m too young! This is too scary! Pick someone else!” But you know what she said instead? She said, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it happen just like you said.” Mary said YES to God even though it was going to be really hard!

Think about what Mary was facing: People wouldn’t understand. They might think she did something wrong. She was about to get married to Joseph—what would he think? Her life was going to completely change! But Mary trusted that God’s plan was better than anything she could imagine.

That’s what it means to surrender to God—to say, “God, I’m Yours. Use me however You want. I trust You.” When we surrender to God like Mary did, amazing things can happen! God doesn’t ask us to understand everything. He just asks us to trust Him and say yes.

Think About It: Is there something God is asking you to do that seems hard? Maybe He’s asking you to forgive someone who hurt you, or to share your faith with a friend, or to be obedient to your parents in a new way. It might feel scary or uncomfortable but remember Mary’s words: “I belong to the Lord. Let it happen just like You said.” What’s one thing you can say YES to God about today?
