Did you know there’s a whole country named after Jesus? It’s called El Salvador, which means “The Savior” in Spanish! Pretty cool, right? But here’s what’s even cooler: Jesus doesn’t just want to be the king of one country—He wants to be the King of YOUR heart!

When Jesus was born, wise men came from far away looking for “the King of the Jews.” They knew Jesus was someone super important! But Jesus isn’t just a king for one group of people. He came to be the Savior of the whole world—including you!

Here’s something amazing: Even Mary, Jesus’ own mother, needed Jesus to be HER Savior! When Mary found out she was going to have baby Jesus, she sang a song that said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior” (Luke 1:46-47). If Mary needed Jesus to save her from her sins, that shows us that everyone needs Jesus!

The question is: Is Jesus the King of your heart? Have you asked Him to be your Savior? One day, the Bible says, every single person will bow down and say that Jesus is Lord. But it’s way better to make Him your King now and get to know Him and love Him your whole life!

Take Action: Create a “My King Certificate”! Take a piece of paper and either on the computer or with whatever crayons or markers you have around, write “I, [your name], declare that Jesus is the King of my life!” Date: _______ Feel free to decorate it with crowns, stars, and royal colors like purple and gold. If you’ve already asked Jesus to be the King of your heart, fill it out and date it. If you’ve never asked Jesus to be your Savior, talk to your parents or pastor or another trusted adult about how you can do that, then fill it out together!
