Money Can’t Make You Happy!
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. Ecclesiastes 5:10
Imagine if you had a billion dollars! You could buy any toy you wanted, travel anywhere, and never have to worry about money again. Would that make you happy forever? You would probably have a whole bunch of fun for a while, but then you might start getting bored. Then what?
That exact feeling has happened to a lot of people who have tons of money. A lot of times people who are super rich eventually start giving away their money to help other people. Sometimes they find a hobby or work that gives them purpose. Money can make some things about life easier, but it can’t fix everything.
King Solomon was probably one of the richest people who ever lived. He had gold, silver, fancy palaces, and anything he wanted. But near the end of his life he said that chasing after money and stuff was like chasing the wind—you can never really catch it! He learned that being rich doesn’t make you happy!
The apostle Paul said the same thing. He warned people not to LOVE money. He said that having “godliness with contentment” (being close to God and happy with what you have) is way better than being rich! (1 Timothy 6:6)
The truth is that money and stuff can’t make us truly happy. Only God can! When we love God and trust Him to take care of us, we can be content whether we have a lot or a little!
Think About It: Do you ever wish you had more stuff? Maybe you want a new video game or toy that your friend has. There’s nothing wrong with wanting things, but we have to be careful not to love money and stuff more than we love God! Ask yourself: “Am I happy with what I have, or am I always wishing for more?” Thank God for what you do have, and ask Him to help you be content! Remember, the best things in life—like love, friendship, and faith—are totally free and worth more than anything!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
