You Can’t Serve Two Masters!
You cannot serve both God and money. Luke 16:13, NIV
Have you ever tried to ride your bike while playing on your tablet? Or tried to do homework while playing basketball? It’s really hard to do two things at once, especially when they both need your full attention!
Jesus said it’s impossible to serve two masters at the same time. You can’t fully follow God AND fully love money. You have to choose!
Now, this doesn’t mean having money is bad! Money is just a tool—like a hammer or a screwdriver. We need money to buy food, clothes, and other things. But when we LOVE money and start thinking about it all the time, money becomes our master instead of our servant!
When God is your Master, you ask Him, “What do You want me to do with my money?” You trust Him to provide what you need. You’re willing to give some of your money to help others and support God’s work!
But when money is your master, you think, How can I get more money? How can I keep all my money for myself? You don’t trust God to provide, so you try to control everything yourself! John Wesley, a famous preacher from long ago, said we should think: How much of God’s money will I keep for myself? instead of How much of my money will I give to God? See the difference? When we remember that everything belongs to God anyway, it’s easier to be generous!
Think About It: Who’s the master of your life—God or money (and stuff)? Here’s a test: If you had to choose between going to church or going shopping, which would you pick? If you had to give away half your allowance or skip church for a month, which would you choose? If your answers show that stuff is more important to you than God, ask Him to help you make Him your Master again!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
