The Bible Habit
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
What’s something you do every single day without even thinking about it? Maybe it’s brushing your teeth, eating breakfast, or putting on your shoes. These are called habits—stuff you do so often that they become automatic!
Here’s an important question: Is reading the Bible one of your habits? Jesus said that people who follow Him should “abide” in His Word. That’s a fancy way of saying we should live in God’s Word. That means reading it, thinking about it, and letting it change how we act every single day!
Sometimes life gets super busy. There’s homework and practice and video games and hanging out with friends. It’s easy to say, “I’ll read my Bible tomorrow.” But then tomorrow comes, and you’re busy again! Before you know it, days or even weeks go by without spending time in God’s Word.
But the more you read the Bible, the more you’ll want to read it! It’s like getting to know your best friend. The more time you spend together, the closer you get. God’s Word is how He talks to us. When we skip it, we miss out on hearing from Him!
Take Action: Pick a time every day to read your Bible. Maybe right when you wake up, right before bed, or right after school. Set an alarm or ask a parent to remind you. Start with just five minutes! Read one chapter or even just a few verses. The important thing is to do it every day until it becomes a habit you can’t live without!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
