That’s Not Fair!
Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; they increase in riches. Psalm 73:12
Have you ever noticed that sometimes kids who cheat get better grades? Or that people who lie seem to get away with it? Or that mean people seem to have everything going great for them, while kind people seem to have a hard time? It seems totally unfair, right?
You’re not the first person to wonder about this. It’s actually one of the oldest questions ever! In the Bible, the writer of Psalm 73 struggled with this question. He looked around and saw people who ignored God living easy, comfortable lives. That was frustrating!
But then he did something that changed everything. He went to the temple and started thinking about it from God’s perspective, not just his own. And he realized something: life on earth isn’t the whole story. God will make everything right in the end. Those who do bad will one day get what they deserve. And those who do good will be rewarded.
Even more important, if you’re doing what God says, you have something right now that is worth so much! And that’s a relationship with the God of the universe. A God you can talk to and who is with you and is always with you. The psalmist ended up writing, “Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You” (Psalm 73:25). Once he focused on God, nothing else seemed as important anymore. When life seems unfair, bring your questions to God. And remember that God is in control now and forever.
Think About It: Has anything in life ever seemed unfair to you? Have you talked to God about it? Bring those questions and frustrations to him in prayer. Tell Him honestly how you feel. Then ask Him to help you see things from His perspective. That’s exactly what the psalmist did!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
