Pulling Others Up

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him. Matthew 14:31

One night, Jesus’ disciples were in a boat when they saw Jesus walking on top of the water! Peter was so amazed that he asked to walk on the water too. And he did...until he looked at the wind and the waves and got scared. Then he started to sink! But the moment Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!”, Jesus reached down and caught him and pulled him right back up.Later, Peter remembered what that felt like....

One night, Jesus’ disciples were in a boat when they saw Jesus walking on top of the water! Peter was so amazed that he asked to walk on the water too. And he did...until he looked at the wind and the waves and got scared. Then he started to sink! But the moment Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!”, Jesus reached down and caught him and pulled him right back up.

Later, Peter remembered what that felt like. One day he met a man who couldn’t walk, and Peter reached out his hand, helped him up, and the man started walking and jumping and praising God! Peter had been pulled up by Jesus, and now he was pulling someone else up.

All around you, there are people who could use a hand. Maybe a kid at school is feeling left out. Maybe a friend is really sad about something. Maybe someone fell on the playground and needs help getting up. When we notice people who are struggling and reach out to help, we’re doing what Jesus and Peter did!

Take Action: Keep your eyes open today for someone who needs “pulling up.” Here’s how: when you see a kid sitting alone, go say “hi” and invite them to join you. When you see someone who’s sad, ask, “Are you okay? Want to talk?” When someone drops their stuff, help them pick it up. Before you head out the door, pray, “Jesus, show me someone I can help today.” Then watch for the chance!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?

I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
