God Is Bigger Than You Think
Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders…. The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power. Job 37:14, 23, NIV
Have you ever learned something new that completely surprised you (maybe a fact about space, or the ocean, or your own body), and you thought, Whoa, I had no idea!? It turns out we all have things we don’t know yet. And that’s true about God too. As big as we think God is, He’s actually even BIGGER!
In the Bible, Job thought he had God all figured out. But when God finally spoke to him, Job realized he barely understood anything! God showed Job the wonders of creation—the stars, the storms, the wild animals—and Job suddenly saw that God was far more powerful and amazing than he’d ever imagined. Job had to humbly say, “Wow, God, You’re so much bigger than I knew!”
Here’s a good way to live: stay humble and keep your heart open to learning more about God. None of us has Him all figured out. The more we read the Bible and get to know Him, the more we discover how wonderful He is. There’s always more of God to discover!
Take Action: Go on a “God is bigger” discovery this week! Here’s how: pick something amazing that God made (the night sky, the ocean, a tiny insect, or even how your own heart beats without you telling it to), and with an adult look up some interesting and amazing facts about it. Then thank God for being so much bigger and more wonderful than you can even imagine. Stay curious—there’s always more of God to discover!
