“That’s Not Fair!”

Surely God will never do wickedly, nor will the Almighty pervert justice. Job 34:12

“That’s not fair!” Have you ever said those words? Maybe your sibling got a bigger piece of dessert. Maybe you got in trouble for something you didn’t even do. Maybe someone else got picked for the team and you didn’t. When things feel unfair, it can make us upset and even kind of helpless, like there’s nothing we can do about it.Job felt that way too....

“That’s not fair!” Have you ever said those words? Maybe your sibling got a bigger piece of dessert. Maybe you got in trouble for something you didn’t even do. Maybe someone else got picked for the team and you didn’t. When things feel unfair, it can make us upset and even kind of helpless, like there’s nothing we can do about it.

Job felt that way too. While he was going through hard times, he and his friends kept wondering, Is this fair? Is this right? But the big lesson of Job’s story is this: God will never, ever do something wrong, and God will never be unfair. He is always perfectly good and perfectly just, even when we can’t understand what’s happening.

Sometimes life really is unfair, and that hurts. But as time goes by, we can often look back and see how God brought good things out of those unfair times. We can trust Him even on the hard days. God is good all the way through, even when life isn’t fair.

Think About It: Is there something in your life right now that feels unfair? It’s okay to feel that way. God understands. But here’s the question: Can you trust that God is still good, even when things aren’t fair? Try praying, “God, this doesn’t feel fair, but I know You are always good and You love me. Help me trust Your heart even when I don’t understand.” You might be surprised how God brings good out of even the unfair things.

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?

I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
